Summertime Skin Care

Not too long ago my skin care regimen consisted of makeup removing wipes and maybe moisturizer. My skin definitely suffered because of it.

At 27 I now have a solid skin care routine, but when the seasons and weather changes, I have to adjust accordingly.

When Derma E kindly gifted me these new products, I was excited to add to my routine to keep my skin healthy during the summer months.

+CBD Relief

Out of all the products I was most excited to try the CBD products. Skin De-Stress? Yes please. I use the serum and moisturizer everyday, and use the cleanser every other day. Since adding them my skin hasnโ€™t been as dry and the red spots I would get have gotten less noticeable. They are very gentle and lightweight on my normally sensitive skin as well!

Cleansing

This is where I was a little skeptical on actually switching up my routine. My acne prone skin is not a fan of many different cleansers and I have been pretty happy with what I was previously using.

I used the Universal Cleansing balm in place of my usual oil based cleanser and I was pleasantly surprised that it melted my makeup and cleaned my skin just as well as my go-to cleanser did! I followed up with the Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Cloud Cleanser to in place of Micellar Water I usually use. So far both cleansers have done a great job. No extra breakouts, over oily, or dried out skin!

Restoring Lotion- Summer MUST

I donโ€™t know about you, but my skin tends to try out a lot in the summer because of all the time in the sun and water. This lotion is lightweight but not too lightweight. You know, that perfect consistency that actually feels like itโ€™s working. An added bonus is how AMAZING the Tyme and Lemongrass smell together. Summer in a bottle.

My Favorite Product

Out of all of the great products I received, Iโ€™m the most in love with the Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel. My skin looks AND feels so good after using it. It smells AMAZING and those are actual chunks of citrus peel on my face. I mean, whatโ€™s not love?!

Fresh Summer Skin Care Routine

These products have been such a refreshing addition for my skin and have helped me welcome the warm weather without taking a toll!

UV Protective Swimwear for Outdoor Adventures

Watch out summer, we’re ready for you!

Around here, summertime means HOURS and HOURS spent outdoors and in the water. You can find us in the mountains, at the lake, or even just in our yard playing with water toys.

Over the years we have found products and brands that fit our active outdoorsy lifestyle and make for smoother adventures. It has taken some trial and error, for sure!

One item that has been a must for us since our oldest was a toddler is rash guards. I can’t stress enough how nice they are to have for little ones! They are perfect for keeping those cute little bellies protected from the sun and scratchy sand, while also providing a little extra warmth while playing in the cold water!

Our favorite brand for rash guards and kids suits in general is SwimZip. While they kindly gifted us the kids swimwear for this summer, we have used them in the past and always had a great experience! I am a big fan of the piece of mind I get knowing that their suits have UPF 50+ protection. Basically wherever the swimsuit covers, they’re protected- meaning less sunscreen applying for mom and dad.

The Swim Suits

Can we talk about the matching for a second?! I love when these three get to match, and I plan on fully taking advantage of it while they still let me. All pieces shown are from the Navy Gingham Collection that launched May 7th!

Mason (my 8 year old) is wearing the Short Sleeve Rash Guard and Boys Swim Trunks both in size 6-8. He loves the zipper feature on the front of this rash guard, because it makes it easier to take off and he can wear it unzipped!

Maddison (my 6 year old) is wearing the Girls 3 Piece Set in 5T. This set includes a long sleeve rash guard, shorts and a tankini. This set is super handy for little ones who tend to be indecisive about the rash guard!

Maxson (my 2 year old) is wearing the Long Sleeve Romper Swimsuit in 2T. He’s a little dude so this is a tad big on him, but that just means will get plenty of wear out of it!

Some info about SwimZip

SwimZip was started by Betsy Johnson who was diagnosed with skin cancer at 26. She set out to create UPF 50+ clothing in hopes of helping other avoid the same fate.Click HERE to read the full story on their website!

Happy first day of summer loves! I hope you all get to go on adventures and make the best memories! Stay tuned for more of our summer fun here and on IG!

Itโ€™s Not Your Door.

Iโ€™m guilty of trying to force those doors open. Trying to fit in to a box that wasnโ€™t mine to be in.

I was driven by the constant need to fit in. Be included. Be LIKED. Fitting myself into a mold that just wasnโ€™t me.
โฃ

It was almost exactly a year ago when I decided to say โ€œYESโ€ to myself. โฃ
The real me- not the me that I thought I should be, or the one others wanted me to be. โฃ
โฃDid I wake up one day and suddenly not care what others thought?

Of course not.

I still struggle with that. Everyday. But what I did do was decide that MY opinion mattered more than anyone elseโ€™s.

Do I like who I am? Am I being true to myself? Am I happy? Are my actions affecting my loved ones?

Those are the questions that I constantly ask myself, especially when I find myself feeling less than or knocking on those doors that arenโ€™t mine.

The last year Iโ€™ve found out more about myself and embraced my truth more than ever before. Itโ€™s been quite a year, and Iโ€™m so proud of my growth.

My only regret?โฃ
