Itโ€™s Okay to Just Survive.

Hey mama.

If you are doing more surviving than thriving- this is for you.

(Thanks Jill for that ever so accurate phrase. ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Every time I open my Instagram or Facebook I am greeted with moms who seemingly look like they have it all together. Art projects, perfect schedules, and at home work outs fill up my feed.

Most of me is thinking โ€œYay you! Get it girl!โ€, but there is that part of me who gets sucked into feeling less than. Cue the mom guilt.

Navigating 2020 hasnโ€™t been easy for me. Iโ€™ve been riding a roller coaster of emotions- for every few โ€œI got thisโ€ days, I have a โ€œNO you donโ€™tโ€ day.

Some days everything works. The house gets cleaned, the schedule is followed, the fights are minimal, and we might even squeeze in a fun activity. But those days of simply surviving are VERY real too and thatโ€™s okay.

If youโ€™re feeling less than, remember that those kids donโ€™t care if you are perfect. You might not be thriving, but you showed up and thatโ€™s what matters.

No matter how your day goes,

YOU are a good mom.

(Im)perfect mama.

3 kids in 3 very different stages means I end up feeling stretched thin and falling short most of the time. Helping each one navigate different highs and lows, making sure their needs are met, AND that they all get my attention is no easy feat. โฃโ €

Our life is crazy, chaotic, loud, and also ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ญ. These beautiful babies take so much of me, but at the end of the day all the trials we face are pint sized compared to the triumphs. โฃโ €

โฃAre you feeling stretched thin, mama? I see you. Iโ€™m with you. But know that to those babies you are the world.๐Ÿงก โ €

Shout out to my wonderful friend Megan (@mommassippycup) for reminding me that as hard as motherhood is, these imperfect moments should be celebrated all the same.๐Ÿงก She created a challenge on Instagram asking fellow moms to share there imperfect moments, and Iโ€™ve loved reading every single post. All the women who have participated are different, but weโ€™re all mamas just trying to do the best we can and we rally together to support one another. To me, that speaks volumes.

If you are on IG and feel like joining in just use the hashtag โ€”> #im_perfectmamaโฃ!

xoxo.

Dear parents.

Probably the most heard statement as a parent. Then once you experience it, you find yourself saying it all the time too. โ €

Because you never fully grasp just how fast it goes until youโ€™re in it. Until itโ€™s ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ baby growing at the speed of light. It isnโ€™t until then that you realize just what all of those nostalgic glances were about.

Parenthood (for me), it a constant series of bittersweet moments. New milestones bring SUCH joy, but also a bang of sadness knowing my babies are growing. Wishing I could stop the clock for a while, or at the very least slow it down.

โ €

Iโ€™m going to say it again for you, because Iโ€™m feeling it today. Enjoy it. Enjoy whatever season you are in, because it does go by way too fast. โ €

One day youโ€™re staring into sleepy newborn eyes and the next your sending that sweet babe off to school. ๐ƒ๐จ๐งโ€™๐ญ ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ค, ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐๐ฌ . โ™ก
