I’m guilty of trying to force those doors open. Trying to fit in to a box that wasn’t mine to be in.
I was driven by the constant need to fit in. Be included. Be LIKED. Fitting myself into a mold that just wasn’t me.
It was almost exactly a year ago when I decided to say “YES” to myself. The real me- not the me that I thought I should be, or the one others wanted me to be. Did I wake up one day and suddenly not care what others thought?
Of course not.
I still struggle with that. Everyday. But what I did do was decide that MY opinion mattered more than anyone else’s.
Do I like who I am? Am I being true to myself? Am I happy? Are my actions affecting my loved ones?
Those are the questions that I constantly ask myself, especially when I find myself feeling less than or knocking on those doors that aren’t mine.
The last year I’ve found out more about myself and embraced my truth more than ever before. It’s been quite a year, and I’m so proud of my growth.
Is it possible for a month to fly by and drag on at the same time? Because that was how April went for me.
With not many places to go except the mailbox and grocery pick ups, my outfits were pretty limited to in home mirror shots. I did take some time yesterday to have a little fun trying on some new items and throw together some new outfits!
If you’re new here, and wondering what these posts are about, heres a little run down.
Every month I do a summary of all my outfits I have posted on LIKEtoKNOW.it on the blog for easy navigation and browsing! This month I’m doing it a bit differently and starting with the outfit last posted, instead of the first!
Here we go!
To shop- you can click each photo for complete details, or use the links below the photo to shop a specific item! Clicking the actual photo will take you straight to the LIKEtoKNOW.it post!

(If you don’t know yours, keep scrolling. We will get to that!)
We’ve all had that piece of clothing we were SO excited to purchase, then put on and H A T E D, right? It looked good on the model, your friend, the mannequin- but it just doesn’t on you.
Here is where body shape comes into play. Knowing your shape (hour glass, apple, pear, and rectangle are the most common types) can help you to find items that work will for your body, and also how to style them!
Women weren’t made from a “one size fits all” mold. We come in all shapes and sizes.
For reference I am a pear shape!
If you don’t know your shape, I would start with the image below! This is the easiest way to find it.
This blog post is another great resource on the subject! The images below are from the post as well.
Keep in mind – body shape is not the same as body size. Body size is an individual’s body measurement. So someone who is a size 4 can be a pear and so can someone who is a size 12!
Here are a few more handy pins straight from Pinterest with tips for each shape as well!
